This course combines specialized classes in International Business English communication skills and concepts with general English language skills. This course is designed to give students the English skills they need to work effectively in today’s global marketplace. English skills and vocabulary are developed through exercises, case studies, role plays and research

The objective of this course is to increase the students’ English communication skills by:

1. improving fluency through regular practice of speaking activities;
2. expanding vocabulary through discussions, role plays, presentations, pair works, and group works on various topics, and
3. developing a solid of understanding of oral English communication, as well as basic structures, taught through non-explicit conceptual structure teachings, but through communication, i.e. using the target language.

Goals:

• Increase students’ confidence and fluency in conversational English
• Provide students with opportunities to activate English studied in other courses
• Provide students with practice in and strategies for exchanging in formation and negotiating meaning
• Provide students with practice in listening both for gist and for specific information
• Increase students’ knowledge of vocabulary and idioms relevant to particular topics of discussion
