A professional cybersecurity foundation programme designed for learners who are new to cybersecurity or have general IT knowledge but lack a structured cybersecurity foundation. The course introduces the fundamental concepts, technologies, terminology and workflows required to understand modern cybersecurity operations, connecting systems, networks, users, threats, vulnerabilities, detection, investigation, response and risk.

- By completion, participants should be able to:
- • Explain fundamental cybersecurity concepts, terminology and security principles.
- • Describe common cyber threats, vulnerabilities and attack techniques.
- • Explain basic networking, protocols, IP addressing and common network services.
- • Understand basic Windows and Linux security concepts.
- • Recognize common malware, social-engineering techniques and attack paths.
- • Understand basic defensive security, SIEM, endpoint security and monitoring.
- • Explain the role of Cyber Threat Intelligence and incident response.
- • Identify and classify basic security events.

No previous cybersecurity specialization is required. Participants should ideally have: • Basic computer literacy • Familiarity with common operating systems • Basic understanding of files and applications • Basic internet usage • Willingness to work with technical concepts No advanced programming, networking or cybersecurity experience is required.
